Domaine de Belesbat |
Courdimanche-sur-Essonne Boutigny-sur-Essone France |
|
Domaine de Belesbat comprises
three different buildings, each with its own style : the Chateau, the Commanderie,
and the Logis du Roy. All three are harmoniously situated around "La Poterne",
the entrance which dates back to 1459 and is listed on the national registrar
of historic buildings.
The Huraults, an aristocratic
family who became Belesbat’s proprietor in 1498, built the actual castle
and created the park and gardens “A la francaise”. The property remained
in the family for over two centuries.
The garden was considered
one of the most beautiful in France, with its walking paths in the form
of a star and its lush greenery along the Essonne River valley. Henry IV,
King of France and the Navarre, regularly visited the Chateau. And Michel
de l’Hospital, a famous chancellor of France, spent the last years of his
life here.
Domaine de Belesbat fuses
history and modern chic in its sixty rooms and suites. The rooms and amenities
provide a haven of peace and tranquility in an environment steeped in history
and culture.
Accommodation -
Le Chateau Club, built by the Hurault family, owner of the domain
at the end of the XVII century, has 16 spacious rooms and suites and the
elegant "Voltaire" salon, reserved exclusively for the clients of the Chateau
Club. It will allow you to discover and relive, if you have a vivid imagination,
the spirit of the place where Voltaire organised, in October 1725, his
famous play "Fete de Belesbat".
Le Logis du Roy are
designed in a "classic-contemporary" style, the wood work and interior
decoration remind us of the atmosphere one could have found on cruise ships
in the old days. The rooms are unique and situated in one of the three
oldest buildings on the property. La Commanderie are modern
and cozy, designed in a classical contemporary style, the woodwork and
decoration are reminiscent of the luxury ocean liners of the last century.

place for cocktails and after dinner drinks, a perfect setting for planning
your next day’s activities.
Facilities & Activities
- Belesbat's Golf course can be compared to no other. It is undoubtedly
a challenging and unique course. Its prestigious fairways and greens are
majestically surrounded by a chateau, a river, numerous water hazards and
woods.
The 18th century “Le Notre”
style park features an 18-hole, par 72 golf course nestled into Belesbat’s
wooded, rolling hills.
The course architects succeeded
in preserving the magnificent setting where the Essonne River flows peacefully
through this breathtaking valley. The course provides both experienced
golfers and beginners with a unique mix of challenge, history, and the
natural beauty of the region.
