The Unicorn Hotel is a 17th century hotel with warm
honey stone walls and window boxes bursting with colour. Step over the
flagstone hearth and you are guaranteed a warm welcome by friendly staff.
It is situated on the Roman Fosse Way, which runs through Stow-On-The-Wold.
Beautifully refurbished to an excellent standard, the Unicorn has cosy
sitting rooms with log fires burning in the Hearth and ancient oak beams.
All rooms have their own character and individual style. Jocobean furniture
nestles against modern fabrics.

The town has a beautiful old market square and is a famous centre for
the antique trade. Everywehere you will see local honey-coloured limestone,
used for everything from the stone floors in the houses to the tiles on
the roof, has ensured that the area has a magical uniformity of architecture.
Accommodation - All 20 bedrooms have their own character and
individual style. Jacobean furniture nestles against modern fabrics. Ancient
beams lie against color washed walls. Modern bathrooms lead off antique
furnished bedrooms and there are both half tester and four poster.
Dining & Local Information - The Shepherd's Restaurant is
in an elegant Georgian dining room, serving fabulous local produce from
an imaginative menu.
Facilities & Activities - The Cotswolds is popular with both
the English and visitors from all over the world. It is renowned
for gentle hillsides (‘wolds’), sleepy villages and also for being ‘typically
English’.
Attractions include the famous city of Bath, beautiful towns like Cheltenham
with its famous racecourse, delightful villages such as Burford and Castle
Combe, Palaces and Castles, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Theatres, golf, biking,
walking etc etc.
Not all villages are well known, and today many still hold their secrets.
Amongst the treasures to be found are perhaps a hidden village off the
beaten track, perhaps Painswick, Biddestone, Winchcombe or Woodstock, or
an unspoilt historic church, such as at Northleach often called the “Cathedral
of the Cotswolds” – open the church door and you will discover a hidden
world of history.
Today, the larger market towns and villages of the Cotswolds are famous
for their shops, such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Cirencester, Chipping Norton
and Tetbury.
Conference & Meeting - The Cotswold Room at the Unicorn provides
an elegant meeting room for up to 50 delegates, with an opportunity for
break out meetings in the adjoining syndicate room. The Fleece room, part
of The Shepherd’s Restaurant is discreetly separated by thick curtains
and is suitable for small meetings and brainstorming.
